Choosing the best roofing material for your home is impacted by these considerations:

  1. Structural integrity
  2. Appearance
  3. Budget

Structure counts.

We know since we’ve worked on many historic buildings. Older wood frame homes are popular throughout all the cities of the San Gabriel Valley. These are the kind that are more likely to breathe. Weight and airflow are quite important. Lightweight tile may put less stress on the frame than certain types of lifetime shingles.

Appearances count.

I can put a new roof on an older home and create a look where all the design elements fit together nicely. If your roof is mostly flat or low-slope then you want a lifetime material that repels water and heat.

Budget, of course, is important. Invite me out and I’ll give you a free estimate that includes your options.

I’ll let you know what decking you need, the types of shingle that work best and the price range. If you need a quality roofing repair to stop leaks and hold you for a few years, then I’ll give you the best repair job.

We install Class A (fire rating) materials in compliance with California’s Title 24 standards. All materials are made for energy efficiency.

Roofing Materials

Asphalt shingles–also called composition shingles

One of the most popular roofing choices. Most selections now come with a multi-dimensional look that resemble a wood shake roof. We carry shingles from GAF/ELK and Certainteed, the leading manufacturers.

The shingles are made with up to four layers of specially engineered asphalt, a high-strength fiberglass core and ceramic-coated granules to protect against the sun’s most powerful rays.

You can expect asphalt shingles to last from 30 to 50 years.

Tile

The many southwestern-Spanish style homes lend themselves naturally to the use of tile. Tile is also required in specific neighborhoods. See our Cities page.

Tile products are made not to fade, streak or blotch.

We work with different tile manufacturers to give you the widest variety possible in clay and porcelain tile roofing.

Is it right for your home? Let’s look at the structure of your home and consider it in light of your other roofing options.

  • Metal – highly fire resistant and durable, the installation of metal roofs is critical to how well they perform. Metal panels can expand, and contract and panels may loosen if they’re not properly fastened.
